To ensure a smooth start, we recommend arriving at least 10 minutes before class for check-in.

Our friendly staff will be at the front desk to assist you and get you all set up for your session.

What to wear / What to bring

When it comes to attire, wear something comfortable, ideally traditional cross-training shoes suitable for both cardio and strength training.

For added protection, we strongly advise wearing hand wraps during our classes to support your wrists.

You can purchase traditional wraps or quick wraps from the front desk. Additionally, don't forget to bring along boxing gloves (available for hire or bring your own), a towel, and your preferred footwear to keep you light on your feet throughout the session.

Don't sweat the small stuff

Trying out a new sport like boxing may seem intimidating, but we prioritise fun and welcome beginners and newcomers to our classes with open arms.

Our workouts are designed to be beginner-friendly, so you can relax and work at your own pace without any pressure.

THE BOXING STANCE AND BASIC PUNCHES

This guide will get you perfectly prepared for an effective workout ahead of your class.

Orthodox (Right-Handed) Stance

  • Foot Position: Align your feet with a shoulder-width distance apart, with a line between them.
  • Knee Position: Keep your knees loose and slightly bent for agility.
  • Hand Position: Hold your hands up in fists by either side of your face for protection.

The Jab

  • Execution: Use your lead (front) hand.
  • Movement: Throw the punch from your face, fully extending your arm.
  • Rotation: Rotate your fist as you punch.
  • Breathing: Exhale sharply.
  • Core Involvement: Slight core rotation.
  • Recovery: Return your hand quickly back to your face.

The Cross

  • Execution: Use your dominant (rear) hand for this power punch.
  • Movement: Throw the punch from your face, fully extending your arm.
  • Rotation: Rotate your fist as you punch.
  • Breathing: Exhale sharply.
